The DoE Office of Nuclear Physics seeks new developments in detector electronics with significantly improved energy, timing resolution, sensitivity, dynamic range (DR), and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Of particular interest are innovative readout electronics for amplifying and processing data from detectors while meeting the conflicting needs of very low power (<10mW/channel), high rate (>10MHz) and ability to operate under high radiation doses. Within the scope of this proposal, the goal is to develop a radiation-hardened, successive approximation register (ADC) for digitizing detector outputs with >60-dB SNR and >10MHz sampling speed while consuming <2mW.
